Arrest Made in School Threats The Boulder Police Department has arrested a teenager in connection to threats of violence made against city schools this week.On the morning of Tuesday, May 24, officers received information that a 14-year-old male student made threats of a school shooting at Casey Middle School during continuation celebrations on Thursday, May 26, as well as other possible threats of violence. Officers immediately began an investigation and coordinated with the Boulder Valley School District to provide an increased police presence around the school to keep the community safe.This afternoon with the assistance of the Boulder County Sheriff's Office , detectives executed a search warrant at the teen’s home in the Town of Superior and arrested the teen on a felony charge of inciting destruction of life or property and a misdemeanor charge of interference of staff or students of educational institutions. He was taken into custody without incident around 6 p.m. The investigation is ongoing. “This type of situation is every parent’s worst nightmare, and we know our community felt this even more profoundly considering what happened in Texas yesterday. We take every threat seriously and our officers and detectives worked overnight with the FBI Denver Field Office and the Boulder DA's Office, 20th Judicial District - DA Michael Dougherty following up on these tips to make this arrest. I’m proud of the work they did to keep our community safe,” Deputy Chief of Operations Stephen Redfearn said.Anyone with any information related to this investigation is asked to call Detective E. UPDATE:On Thursday, May 19, 2022, George “Alex” Martinez, 49-years-old, 5’09” height, 165 lbs., brown hair, brown eyes, was involved in a stabbing in the 300 block of 14th Place. The victim survived her injuries. As a result of this incident, a Boulder County Arrest Warrant was issued for the following charges:- Criminal Attempt to Commit Second Degree Murder - Assault in the First Degree- Domestic ViolenceOn Friday, May 20, 2022, at approximately 10:10 a.m., Martinez robbed a bank in the 1600 block of Hover St. Police recovered a stolen vehicle used in the robbery in a nearby neighborhood. Today, Monday, May 23, 2022, at approximately 10:45 a.m., Martinez robbed a bank in the 400 block of Coffman St. No vehicle used to leave the bank was seen. Based on bank surveillance photos, Longmont officers were able to identify Martinez. At approximately 3:30 p.m., Longmont Detectives in the Special Investigations Unit and Longmont Police K9s located Martinez in a home on the east side of Berthoud. Detectives, K9s, and deputies from the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office surrounded the house. At approximately 4:08 p.m., Martinez surrendered and was arrested without incident. A weapon was not shown in either bank robbery, and no one was injured. Martinez fled both banks with an undisclosed amount of money. Longmont Police case numbers 22-4046, 22-4067, and 22-4156. Longmont Police are asking residents and businesses who have surveillance cameras in the geographical area covering Hover to Francis and 17th to Mountain View to please check their recordings. We are seeking a specific time frame for today (Friday, 5/20/22) from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.We are looking for any video you have of a white cargo van with one window on the driver’s side and three windows on the passenger side.
